This year, Ginger Jar Furniture is supporting the Synthesis Design x Act 2 Safe Choice Program.

North Vancouver’s Synthesis Design is partnering Act 2 Child and Family Services to renovate 12 safe shelter units. Through cash and in-kind donations in the form of professional services and products, Synthesis Design will be able to completely revitalize these units, transforming them into comfortable and welcoming spaces. They are heavily dependent on the support of our community in achieving this goal. There are numerous ways for you to actively participate and truly make a difference in someone’s life.

Thei goal is to raise money to fund this project. There is an urgent opportunity to renovate a vacant unit, the sooner cash donations are received, the sooner they can complete this unit and help shelter another person or family. The goal is to raise an additional $10,000 by December 31st, 2023. 

Since 1980, Act 2 Safe Choice has been providing temporary housing for women and children fleeing domestic violence. In many cases, people are fleeing with only the clothes on their backs, leaving all their belongings behind. This past year, the Safe Choice Program housed 18 women and 21 children.
