Lead Times, Pick Ups & Deliveries

Proper delivery of your purchase is our priority. We will be sure to fulfill your order efficiently and to offer you a pleasant experience.

We offer various delivery options for online orders in the province of British Columbia. For out of province, international and remote deliveries, please contact our customer service team.

For online purchases, you can either pick up your order in-store or at our warehouse, or select the home delivery option during checkout.

Unless otherwise specified, delivery and installation costs will be applied according to the rates in effect and according to the option chosen by the customer.

Lead Times

In stock items are on display in our showroom or stocked in our warehouse. We will be in touch within one (1) business day to let you know when your order will be ready for pick up or delivery. Please note: our inventory may be subject to change despite our best efforts to keep inventory accurate. In the event that this happens, you will be informed and be given an estimated time of delivery or other available options.

In an effort to make your furniture dreams come true more quickly, a number of our partners offer a QuickShip Collection, which features best-selling items in their most popular finish combinations. These come from Canadian or U.S. distribution centres and normally arrive at our North Vancouver warehouse within 8 weeks.

In addition, our partners offer furnishings in an endless array of combinations and configurations. Multiple configurations, material options and combinations mean that each item is custom made, just for you. These special and custom orders will usually arrive at our local warehouse within 16 to 26 weeks.

Ginger Jar Furniture is dependent on the production and delivery schedule of its suppliers. Lead times are best estimates and subject to change. If a delay or stock shortage prevents the delivery of an ordered item within a reasonable time frame, Ginger Jar Furniture will notify the customer in order to determine an appropriate solution.

 

Pick Ups

You are welcome to pick up your order in-store or at our North Vancouver warehouse at no charge. We will notify you as soon as your item is ready for pickup and to schedule a pick-up time so that we can have your piece(s) prepared and ensure there is somebody there to assist you. Pick-ups will only be scheduled during regular store/warehouse hours. You will need to show a copy of your invoice to collect your order. Size matters, so make sure your pickup vehicle is big enough to securely transport your order.

 

Deliveries

Unless otherwise specified, delivery and installation costs will be applied according to the rates in effect and according to the option chosen by the customer. Available options for delivery will be presented to you in your shopping cart during the checkout process.

Small Parcel Delivery

Regular Parcel by Canada Post or UPS Ground. You will receive a tracking number that will enable you to follow your delivery with one of our delivery partners.

Standard Delivery (Curbside)

For our Home Delivery – Curbside option (at this time only available in the Lower Mainland and Sea to Sky Corridor), a skilled delivery team will remove your items form the truck and place them safely and responsibly on the curbside. It is the customer’s responsibility to move the product from the curbside into their home.

Appointment Scheduling: The delivery partner will call you to arrange a date and 4-hour delivery window once your item(s) arrive at our warehouse.
Packaging Removal Included: No
Assembly Service Included: No

Our Standard Shipping is based on the most economical shipping option; therefore, shipping times may vary. Shortly after you have placed your order we will be able to provide you with a general estimated time of arrival.

White Glove Delivery

For our White Glove Delivery option (at this time only available in the Lower Mainland and Sea to Sky Corridor), a skilled two-person delivery team will bring your items to your room of choice and remove any debris or packaging. Rates vary based on location and number of items being delivered.

Packaging Removal Included: Yes. Item(s) unpacked and packaging debris removed from premises.
Assembly Service Included: Yes

PRIOR TO DELIVERY

In order to ensure an efficient and safe delivery, please make sure to measure the height and width of your doors, balcony, patio or outdoor space, including stairways, elevators and fences, where applicable. Please ensure that your ordered products can easily fit in or through all of these areas. The dimensions of our furniture are available on our website or you can contact your sales associate.

Product that does not fit and thus is unable to be delivered when delivery takes place will not be reimbursed and you will be charged fees for the return of the product.

Please note that additional fees may apply if delivery must be made using a lift (hoisting from a balcony or window), or to a dwelling situated on the 4th floor or above in a building that does not have an elevator.

CHANGING YOUR DELIVERY

All requests to change your delivery must be made to our customer service team at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled delivery time.

AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY

IT IS THE CUSTOMER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT THE DELIVERY CAN BE MADE IN ADEQUATE CONDITIONS, WHICH INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: VERIFYING THE ACCESSIBILITY OF THE PREMISES, CLEARING THE AREA WHERE THE FURNITURE WILL BE PLACED, AND VALIDATING THE AVAILABILITY OF THE ELEVATOR, RAMP OR LOADING DOCK. THE CUSTOMER MUST NOTIFY GINGER JAR FURNITURE OF ANY ISSUE(S) THAT COULD INTERFERE WITH THE SUCCESSFUL DELIVERY OF THE ORDER.

A person aged 18 years and over must be present at the time of delivery so that they may verify the accuracy and the state of your order. A packing slip will be given by the delivery person.

Where delivered products are damaged, defective, or there was an incident during delivery, you should report the problem to the delivery person immediately.

IT IS IMPERITIVE TO NOTE ON THE PACKING SLIP / INFORM THE DELIVERY PERSON OF ANY ISSUES. ISSUES NOT NOTED, WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED LATER.

Shipment by independent carrier

Ginger Jar Furniture accepts no responsibility with respect to deliveries subcontracted to an independent carrier. Any delay in delivery after the merchandise has left our warehouse at the scheduled time will not be the legal responsibility of Ginger Jar Furniture. In such cases, no compensation will be granted. In addition, Ginger Jar Furniture cannot be held liable in the event of a problem or dispute with an independent carrier (delay, strike, loss, damage, etc.). In such a case, the dispute must be resolved directly with the carrier concerned.
