Monk Chair with Wood Base

The Monk chair’s shell is made of two bent plywood plates upholstered in fabric underneath which lies a simple wooden structure of massive oak or walnut. The armrest makes the part of the seat and the whole shell visually appears as floating independently from its relatively inconspicuous support, thus paying homage to the retro furniture and the play between typologies.
