Tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac in North Vancouver’s prestigious Edgemont Village, this stunning new West Coast post and beam home features a wide range of furniture and lighting from Ginger Jar Furniture and our sister showroom, OMG it’s small.

The young couple approached Ginger Jar Furniture during the building phase to source furniture and lighting that would play off the natural light, exposed wood and open floor plan of their new home. With two young children, their furniture had to be comfortable, functional and durable, while also clean and minimal in design style so as not to add to their busy lives filled with work and kids!

Finding furniture that had the level of durability that they were looking for but still fit the aesthetic and functional goals was a challenge but ultimately rewarding for our team.

In the open kitchen-dining-living floor plan, the Felix sectional by Dellarobbia anchors the space but provides a functional solution for this family of four, with moveable back and armrests. Paired with our minimalist Isotta armchair, featuring a strip of belt leather.

The dining set effortlessly connects the kitchen and living spaces. The Aron dining table by Bontempi was specified with a transparent glass top to reinforce the open space plan and reflect natural light. The dining table easily expands on both ends, a must for this couple that frequently hosts family and friends. Our clients also sat in and fell in love with the comfortable padding and tufted details of the Kuga dining chairs by Bontempi. Perched on top of the dining table is the Ling 6 Pendant by SEED Design, providing ample multidirectional lighting, yet remaining clean and seamless.

Our client’s newly designed kitchen is a culinary haven where they can spend endless hours cooking, hosting and creating memories. Our minimalist, comfortable and lightweight Nata stools by Bontempi, upholstered in easy to maintain EcoLeather, were the perfect choice.

With floor-to-ceiling windows, harmony between the indoor and outdoor spaces was important. The Cane Line Flex outdoor sectional was selected for its low profile and minimal design, and its modular system meant that this young family could change the way the furniture is used in just a few seconds.

This busy couple also needed a place to relax and unwind after a long day. The Piumotto bed by Pianca Design, in genuine Italian leather, creates a cozy and comfortable nest with its large and generous headboard.

This groundbreaking net-zero-ready home was constructed by North Vancouver’s own Twin Lions Contracting in 2022. In crafting Net Zero ready homes, innovative approaches are used to enhance the home’s energy performance, ensuring airtight construction that minimizes heat loss and maximizes efficiency.

Our client’s belief in environmental responsibility was also reflected in the furniture that they selected, opting for high quality, long-lasting custom pieces. At Ginger Jar Furniture, we strive to partner with reputable brands with sustainable manufacturing practices that support our efforts to minimize our carbon footprint for our generation and generations to come.

Our team had a lot of fun working with this lovely couple to deliver on furnishing their space with beautiful, functional and durable products.
